CAMPBELL SUPERWHALER RETROFIT

Turbo Wing® technology was applied to a 20-foot Campbell Superwhaler in 1980 also in California. Tests demonstrated that the Turbo Wing® retrofit lifted 60% of the boat's weight out of the water, even with 7 adults on-board. This resulted in about a 60% reduction of in drag. A high speed turn becomes more direct, controlled and flat with reduced slide slip.The boat was driven safely in excess of 65 mph during testing.

A series of water tests were conducted to evaluate the contribution of the Turbo Wing retrofit for improving craftperformance, i.e. increasing the speed of the craft and reducing fuel consumption. The results of these tests are presented in the chart below.
